An expert (or panel of experts) discuss how you can overcome burnout and improve your overall well-being.

Where: Los Altos Community Center (97 Hillview Avenue, Los Altos, CA 94024)

When: Tuesday or Thursday evening on day TBD.

Cost: TBD.

Burnout affects many of us and decreases our quality of life. It can interfere with our sleep or appetite, affect our mood, and damage our relationships.

My younger kid called me out on it. He told me that I was “scaring the cats”. The first time he said it, I laughed because I thought he was joking. The second time he said it, I burst into tears because I was already having a rough day and the last thing I wanted to hear was how it was impacting our cats. The third time he said it, I watched the cats and realized that he was right. The second I entered the room, our two cats would just scatter. They sensed my burnout, my anxiety. It was right then and there that I decided that I didn’t want to be a woman who scared cats. I was going to do something about my burnout.

Sometimes burnout is obvious. At other times it sneaks up on us, building up over time – we are like a frog in a slowly-boiling water, not realizing that we’re “cooked” until it’s too late.

I’m thinking of having one or more experts on burnout, including MDs, psychologists, and coaches, to talk about common symptoms and causes of burnout and what you can do to get through it and prevent it from happening again in the future.

The event will be held at the Los Altos Community Center (97 Hillview Avenue, Los Altos, CA, 94024), on Thursday or Tuesday evening.

There will be networking opportunities before and after the talk. Refreshments will be served.
